Chester City

The famous Roman walled City of Chester is an 8 minute drive away from the house, steeped in history and architecture with its unique two tier shopping experience, it’s wonderful walk around the City walls and a different perspective on the City, walk through the second most photographed clock in the world after Big Ben which is situated in the city centre and walk down to the amphitheatre and Roman ruins, through the park to the River and take a boat trip, continue past the castle (now government offices) and over the to the Race Course which was the first public course in England and also the first to race anti-clockwise. Here you have a birds-eye view of the course off the walls and you don't have to spend a penny. Back up onto the walls and watch the narrow boats go through the locks and see many decorated and tied up in the basin in the summer.

Chester has many restaurants, and traditional pubs serving every kind of menu you require, from a traditional meal to some quite exotic dishes all are to be found here. Or after a very hectic day why not just relax on the patio with a nice glass of wine and maybe a BBQ weather permitting and get ready for yet another interesting day tomorrow. I am sure you will enjoy yourself whatever you decide to do.
